ECCO launched “The Better Running Initiative” in March, which is an ongoing global program on the web through which runners participate in experiments, provide feedback and share ideas.
“We have already more than 100 active members. These include journalists, professional athletes, industry insiders and brand ambassadors, as well as other men and women who share a passion for running,” says Alexander Nicolai, Head of ECCO Sport, from the SS14 product conference in Tønder. “We are already receiving tremendously valuable information about different running styles and performance levels”
Each of the participants has received a complimentary pair of the new BIOM Evo Racer’s and is participating in experiments suggested by ECCO. Testing covers a wide range of key areas, such as how comfort, fit and flexibility impact performance.
The observations will be incorporated into upcoming collections, with the goal of developing a user-generated model for Spring/Summer 2015.
Initially invite-only, the Better Running Lab will be expanded in coming months, with applications accepted via the “Sign Up” button.
