Introducing the award-winning ECCO BIOM TERRAIN

Following on from the success of the BIOM HIKE in AW12, ECCO Outdoor can proudly announce that they have another award winning BIOM product, after the Scandinavian Outdoor Group named the BIOM TERRAIN their overall apparel and footwear winner at the ISPO show in Munich.

An international jury, made up of some of the most outstanding outdoor and industry journalists in Europe, made their decision after testing the products in the official Jury Event in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, at the end of January 2013.

Commenting on the BIOM TERRAIN, Jury President Frank Wacker, Outdoor Magazine Germany, said:

“This lightweight hiking boot not only delivers exceptional comfort right out of the box, thanks to the application of the latest biomechanical knowledge, but also guarantees a very smooth step. In addition, it offers an outsole with excellent grip; the upper is made from soft yak leather, and it has a waterproof, breathable Gore-tex-lining. The jury is also excited about the young, fresh design that will appeal to a wider audience than the classical hiking boot look.”

Scandinavian Outdoor Group has hosted the competition since 2006, in order to support product and design innovations and to promote new member products.

“We are really excited to have received the SOG award 2013 for our BIOM TERRAIN boot. It is a clear signal from the industry and media that we have become a credible Outdoor brand over the last few seasons, due to developing our BIOM Outdoor product range further. We focused a lot on creating products with a very natural fit & feel, which offer a perceived comfort to consumers in difficult terrain.” says Alexander Nicolai, Head of Sports Business Unit.
