ECCO is a global company with products available in 87 countries, but this shoe will be offered exclusively in Denmark.
The limited-edition is launched to celebrate the European Tour’s Made in Denmark event taking place 14-17 August at Himmerland Golf & Spa Resort in Farsø. It features a white base color against a red saddle zone emblazoned with the tournament’s distinctive logo.
Available starting June 1, they will be sold at green grass pro shops, off-course golf specialty stores, ECCO retail locations and www.madeindenmarkgolf.dk
“This event will be an outstanding showcase for the rich culture, design heritage and passion for golf that help make our country such a great place to live and play,” says Jesper Thuen, Global Sponsorship, PR & Event Manager, ECCO Golf.
“Competitors, spectators and tournament staff will now have the chance to celebrate throughout the week with a very special shoe,” he adds.
Like all BIOM Hybrid models, the Made in Denmark style showcases two patented performance technologies – NATURAL MOTION and the ECCO Dynamic Traction System (E-DTS). These combine to provide the ultimate combination of comfort, stability, grip and shock-absorption.
Additional points of distinction for the shoe include:
• Extremely Low Profile – Golfer’s weight is closer to the playing surface for excellent stability, ground feel and traction
• Direct Injection – A process that yields superior cushioning and comfort via a one-piece shoe that’s built without glue or stitching
• Weather Resistance – Naturally soft, smooth, breathable and strong yak leather uppers treated with HYDROMAX™ for superb weather protection
• Climate Control – Triple-component ECCO Comfort Fibre System insole for a cool, dry shoe interior
The ECCO Golf collection is worn by scores of Tour players worldwide, including Danish stars Thomas Bjørn, Andreas Hartø, JB Hansen. Among others endorsing the brand are Fred Couples, Ernie Els, Graeme McDowell, Marcel Siem, Thongchai Jaidee, Will Wilcox, Wu Ashun, Belén Mozo, Caroline Masson and Gerina Piller.
